The Archaeological Site of Olympia is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world.
It was the location where the Olympic Games were held in ancient times. The site contains the most complete complex of athletic facilities and religious buildings of the Ancient World, including the Temple of Zeus (the largest temple in the Peloponnese), the Philippeion, the Temple of Hera, the Stadium, the Palaestra, and many other remarkable monuments for visitors to admire.
Today, the archaeological site remains sacred with global significance, continuing to offer humanity the Olympic flame and the message of noble competition and worldwide sacred truce.
